Am I a disciple? Am I making disciples . . . anywhere, let alone in all nations? Those seem to be two critical questions that one who says they are a follower of Jesus should answer. Being a disciple involves a lifelong focus of following our Lord and growing in my relationship with Him, as well as talking and walking with others about their need to be a disciple of Jesus. It is so much more than just going to church on Sunday!
I recently heard a friend of mine pray a prayer and the thought the Lord gave me instantly was “there are three powerful messages.” The privileged position that I enjoy as a disciple allows the following: I am a son of my heavenly Father, I am a servant of the King, and I am a sheep of the good Shepherd.
I sense the Lord leading, and blowing a fresh wind of understanding and commitment to being His disciple in the midst of our church family. Let’s remain open and filled with faith to believe God for everything that He wants to do – in each of our lives personally, and in our church family also.
2 Chronicles 16.9 continues to be true when it states that the eyes of the Lord search to and fro throughout the whole earth seeking to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is turned to Him.
